Scalable blockchain network provides developers with the foundation for more secure and stable coding

Git open source repositories are a popular way to store code. Unfortunately, a high level of centralization means there is a single point of control – raising concerns about the prospect of censorship resistance and security. And as more code is written, the less secure it becomes.

Solutions are now being developed for the teams that manage these open-source repositories — with decentralized autonomous organizations sometimes tasked with reaching consensus on some code. You can encourage and encourage developers to look at the code and confirm its security.

Everscale Network technology, a layer-one blockchain known for its stability and high performance, directly bridges this gap with an on-chain decentralized Git source holder, better known as GOSH, owned by EverX, Pruvendo , KWPC and Blockchain Family. As a separate blockchain based on Everscale technology, this has become a key focal point for securing the global software supply chain of open source software that only exists as a utility fork to the larger network.

To put the benefits of this release into perspective, GOSH is asking for help from Docker, a technology company that develops productivity tools to automate code deployment in software containers. Docker has announced a beta version of Docker Extensions, a marketplace where developers can leverage additional tools and workflows and integrate them into existing projects.

As part of the launch of Docker Extensions, a number of different partners were engaged to integrate a total of 16 extensions – and of these, six focus on securing the software supply chain. For the rest of the industry, these results demonstrate the importance of security and stability for businesses and the developer community at large.

Introduction of the security block

Taking a closer look at the Docker extension’s security block, users find an original application of blockchain technology across the supply chain. When used, the extension helps verify that each container remains secure and unmodified on Docker. Therefore, developers have peace of mind that their containers were built using only the components specified in the associated smart contracts.

To achieve this, the extension should be built entirely on the same technology as Everscale, the Layer One blockchain network mentioned earlier. The platform’s high number of transactions per second (TPS) is a product of dynamic sharding mechanisms that ensure millions of transactions per second can be processed with reduced fees. For these reasons, the Everscale network has been recognized as one of the most scalable networks in existence.

When it comes to stability, Everscale hasn’t suffered any major downtime or other malfunctions in its two-year history, showing that it’s been a reliable choice from the start. While other networks sometimes went down, Everscale was resilient. Taken together, Docker using Everscale technology via GOSH as part of its ecosystem is a pretty logical decision.

With other networks, Docker probably would have had to make a trade-off between performance and stability. With GOSH and Everscale offering both, the application network is an ideal choice for decentralized security applications (DApps).

For mutual benefit

It is believed that successful support of Everscale technology will attract significant interest from several other large IT companies, which in turn will add liquidity pools with GOSH tokens to the platform.

However, the benefits of this application extend far beyond the Everscale network. Based on the information provided by the project developers, the early token sale of GOSH will involve a program called EverLock, where a certain part of Evers will be staked on Gosh exclusively by Everscale network users.
