The Bitcoin market has seen huge moves from long-term investors in recent days following a decline in investor sentiment.
New on-chain data from crypto analytics firm CryptoQuant shows a massive exchange of assets from long-term holders triggered by the current market outlook. According to digital asset analyst Mignolet, around 90,000 BTC were transferred from three to five year old wallets in this short window of time.
Further investigation shows that the wallets involved in the activity are trading wallets and not exchange cold wallets.
“Two days ago, I mentioned the need to pay attention to long-term investors' moves as BlackRock (IBIT) buying pressure fades. A large-scale movement of long-term holders (3 to 5 years) was observed. Approximately 90,000 Bitcoins were transferred.”
Whale sold at maximum price
The on-chain analysis shows facts during transactions that have got crypto enthusiasts talking as some see further corrections due to the recent movement. During price declines, the whale does not move from the bottom, but the exchange occurs during price spikes.
Targeting a price increase near tops shows that the whale understands Bitcoin price Cycles that are based on previous movements. Crypto users point to recent volatility in the market making whales more confident.
Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies have seen outflows in the last two days due to macroeconomic factors. The upcoming halving and shift in miner reserves also contributed to falling Bitcoin prices.
Healthy Bitcoin correction expected
Crypto analyst theKriptolik explained that after high prices in the market, there is a period of high volatility characterized by falling prices that form a local decline
“On an hourly basis, the EEA once again achieved high values. I expect increased volatility in Bitcoin with a possible decline back to the $62,000-$63,000 area, which previously served as support and led to a new local decline. The whale sell-off amid the rapid rise in BTC price will pave the way for a healthy correction.”
This healthy correction could propel Bitcoin forward in the coming months, say bulls trying to keep the pressure on.
At press time Bitcoin Over the past week, the price traded at $64,968 and is down 1.53% as liquidations eased over the last 24 hours.
