The Bergen-based blockchain company Hubii raised millions of crowns within a few hours on Thursday.
– We have just completed most of the work that started the ICO process and we have raised more than $800,000 in four hours, Hubii founder Jacobo Toll Messia tells E24.
He says he is happy with the amount, which is more than NOK 6.3 million.
He just raised money through an ICO, or “Initial Coin Offering,” which is not an investment in the traditional sense, but instead involves you selling the ability to use the product through your own digital currency, called tokens .
Hubii is a news platform with over 50 million users in which Telenor will be involved, writes E24.
– In 4-5 months we will migrate the project to the Ethereum network. The goal is to build a decentralized platform for buying and selling content. Where journalists and content producers can both charge money for their own content and buy content from others, he tells the corporate network.
The goal is to raise NOK 400 million within two weeks.
In a previous podcast episode, Shifter discussed Bitcoin and so-called ICOs. Listen to the episode here.
At the end of May, Shifter created the article: Bitcoin over 2000 dollars. Should you invest now?
The answer to this question was: yes. At the time of writing, the price is just under $4,300.
