Consensys Layer 2 network users can earn XP by completing quests for a possible airdrop
About three months after launching its mainnet beta, Linea, the Ethereum Layer 2 network built by Consensys, the company behind MetaMask and Infura, has launched a campaign to attract new users while educating them about DeFi.
Starting today, Linea’s DeFi Voyage aims to encourage users to explore and engage with various decentralized applications and dive deep into various aspects of DeFi, including wallets, bridging, swaps, lending, borrowing, liquidity provision, yield farming, and more .

The launch of the Voyage indicates the decentralization of the network, suggesting that a Linea token may be available. With Celestia’s recently airdropped TIA token performing well, DeFi users will undoubtedly look to Linea for another windfall.
The first task is to bridge at least $20 worth of ETH to Linea using MetaMask’s Portfolio app.
Note that gas fees on the Ethereum mainnet are currently increased. Therefore, you should consider bridging from another Layer 2 network or cheaper networks such as Polygon or Binance Chain. Metamask also charges a 0.875% fee for bridging assets through the app.
Prohibitive gas fees to bridge from mainnet
For newbies, Linea DeFi Voyage, in collaboration with MetaMask Learn, offers the opportunity to immerse yourself in web3 with a fully curated walkthrough experience. The platform integrates lessons on basic Web3 and DeFi concepts and provides simulations to practice before starting DeFi tasks.
Linea worked with Intract, a Web3 Quest platform, to manage the campaign.
The DeFi journey will span six weeks and consist of waves and core tasks. There is a single core task in each wave, and users can also choose to complete bonus tasks to earn additional rewards. By completing tasks, users earn Linea Voyage XP, non-transferable soul-bound tokens that recognize their contributions to the Linea ecosystem.

Participants are advised to collect their Voyage XP in their primary wallet, which must pass the Proof of Humanity (PoH) verification that will be activated during the third wave of DeFi Voyage. Once the PoH process is successfully completed, users can claim their Voyage XP.
Linea users can bind multiple wallets to a single profile. However, this process is irreversible and bound wallets only accumulate XP in the primary wallet.
