Earning returns at SushiSwap comes with being a liquidity provider, but it’s also different because you earn $SUSHI token rewards. Our yield farms are branded as onsen on sushi. You can check out the current onsen pair options at https://app.sushi.com/farm. There are other yield-producing instruments, but this tutorial will focus on the onsen couples.
As new pools are added to the onsen, their yields are quite high, and as more users enter the yield pairs, the APY levels out, as shown in the screenshot above.
Yield Farming & Onsen 101
Step 1. Go to sushi.com and open the app.
Step 2. Connect your wallet to SushiSwap (make sure you have some Ethereum to cover gas fees!)
Step 3. You must first add liquidity to the yield farming pair. You can do this by following the steps in the Adding and Removing Liquidity section or by specifying directly on the Farm tab of the Onsen Menu page.
step 4 Select the farm or onsen couple you want to join and deposit your SLP (Sushi Liquidity Provider) tokens into the farm by entering the amount you want to add or by clicking Max and then click deposit
step 5 Approve the appropriate fees and start growing your $SUSHI! Management takes place immediately after the transaction is completed.
On sushi.com you can enter a Permanent Farm or an Onsen Yield Farm. Onsen pairs are temporary farms that are allocated bonus $SUSHI rewards through allocation points. Allocation points are allocated based on a number of quantitative and qualitative factors such as sentiment and market capitalization. As a general rule, the higher the interest rate relative to the total value of the holding, the higher the award points.

Please note that $SUSHI rewards no longer have a vesting or lockup period
Since farming is related to providing liquidity, it’s important to note that the same temporary downside risks are still in place.
Leave Onsen 101
Once a temporary onsen pair is no longer yielding returns, you’ll likely want to remove your position.
Step 1. Go to sushi.com and open the app.
Step 2. Connect your wallet to SushiSwap (make sure you have some Ethereum to cover gas fees!)
Step 3. Click on the Farm tab and wait for My Farms to load with your current locations.
step 4 Select the farm or onsen couple you no longer wish to participate in and click the minus sign on the toggle under Staking (the percentages will turn pink if you did it correctly). Choose the percentage you want to remove (or choose MAX for all) and then confirm the payout
step 5 Approve the transaction from your wallet and you’re done!
