Posted 10:36 – July corn down 1 1/2 cents a bushel, July soybeans down 3 1/2 cents, July KC wheat up 8 3/4 cents, July Chicago wheat is down 6 1/2 cents and Minneapolis wheat in July is up 10 cents. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 96.24 points and crude oil is up $1.77 a barrel in June. The US Dollar Index is up 0.030 and Gold is up $9.30 an ounce in June. Only the durum wheat markets are trading in the green Monday morning while corn, Chicago wheat and the soybean complex have turned negative, potentially receiving some weakness from financial markets and good planting weather.

Posted at 8:37 am – July Corn is up 2 3/4 cents a bushel, July Soybeans are up 7 3/4 cents, July KC Wheat is up 22 1/2 cents, July Chicago Wheat is up 5-1 /2 cents up and Minneapolis wheat in July is up 16 1/2 cents. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 14.59 points and crude oil in June is up $2.20 a barrel. The US Dollar Index is down 0.100 and Gold is up $5.00 an ounce in June. Grains and the soy complex are all trading higher, with Kansas City wheat back ahead in July. The imminent end of the shipping corridor in Ukraine, if not renewed within 10 days, and expectations of a small improvement in the winter wheat harvest are supporting the market.

Posted Sunday May 7 at 7:05pm CDT – Grain mixed after Sunday night open. July corn is up 1 cent and July soybeans are down 1/2 cent. Parts of central Illinois, Indiana and northeast Texas received rain over the weekend with lighter amounts from eastern North Dakota to Wisconsin. Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected in the northwestern plains on Thursday and Friday. July KC wheat is up 4 cents and July Minneapolis wheat is up 2 cents. Red flag warnings are posted in the Texas Panhandle on Sunday with temperatures reaching the 90s. Outside markets are quiet, crude oil is up $0.01 in June and Dow Jones futures are down 28 points. The US Dollar Index is up 0.11 and Gold is down $1.00 in June.

Posted at 11:20am – Live cattle are up $0.08 in June to $162.0, feed cattle are up $1.10 in August to $222,525, lean hogs are up $0.13 in June to $83.9 , corn in July by 1 cent a bushel and soybean meal by $0.20 in July. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 95.84 points. The cattle trade negotiated last week totaled 86,560 head. Of these, 70% (60,706 pieces) were destined for nearby delivery, while the remaining 30% (25,854 pieces) were destined for delayed delivery.

Posted 08:35 — Live cattle in June are up $0.28 to $162.2, feed cattle in August are up $0.35 to $221.775, lean hogs in June are up $0.08 to 83, Down $7, corn is up 1 1/4 cents a bushel in July and soybean meal is up $3.60 in July. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 16.21 points. As the market looks to the new week for direction, both the livestock and forage contracts are hopeful that the market’s strong fundamentals will add some value to this week’s trading. The lean hog complex is hoping demand for pork will remain steady in this week’s trade, helping futures contracts trade higher after last week’s costly drop.
