Flamingo Finance Announces Second Wave of Liquidity Pool Changes Including FUSD | by bordeaux | flamingo finance
Hello Flamingo family!
We’re excited to announce more changes to our liquidity pools, including the introduction of FUSD and the addition of FUSD pools!
The liquidity pool changes discussed in this article will be the second wave from a four-wave series as we prepare to launch Flamingo’s stablecoin FUSD and FUSD pools.
If you missed it, you can read about it first wave of changes here.
This article is about FUSD liquidity pools. To learn more about the FUSD protocol, please read the Flamingo stablecoin FUSD overview.
The second wave of liquidity pool changes will include the launch of the FUSD stablecoin, brand new FUSD liquidity pools and some coin adjustments to the existing pools.
Introducing the FUSD stable coin
The anticipated FUSD, Flamingo’s USD-pegged stablecoin, will eventually launch in the second wave. It will start under a brand new one To lend Section on flamingo.finance where you can lend FUSD using various assets as collateral.
Flamingo starts with three different supported assets that can be used as collateral. Interest rates on loans vary depending on the security used and are as follows:
- bNEO: 4%*
- FLUND: 6%*
- fWBTC: 6%*
* Simple Interest: based on the principal amount of a loan only and does not include compound interest.
Stay tuned to learn more about FUSD and how it works in our next article.
New FUSD pools
We will also introduce some FUSD pools so that FUSD is immediately available for trading and liquidity mining. The new pools will look like this:
- FLM-FUSD
- fWBTC-FUSD
- bNEO FUSD
- fUSDT-FUSD
coin adjustments
Since FUSD is supported by FLM in many cases, migrating from FLM pools to FUSD pools makes more sense as it locks FLM and allows traders to trade against stablecoins, just like on a centralized exchange. FUSD gives Flamingo “two for one” and will be a big part of Flamingo’s future.
Within about a month, we plan to move the bulk of the minting from the FLM bNEO pool to a new FUSD bNEO pool.
Over about a month, the old fUSDT pools get lower minting rewards. The old fUSDT pools may be completely removed in the future (if so, we will give sufficient notice).
Note: The plans to change minting premiums in terms of how much and when are subject to change based on various factors as needed.
The following changes to the Flamingo liquidity pools will take place during the second wave (red = lower; green = new or higher):
The second wave of changes will start soon; the same day FUSD becomes available. We don’t know the exact date yet, but we want to give our community enough time to announce these changes so everyone has time to prepare.
Mint rewards for new pools begin 24 hours after the pools start.
