ETHA Lend – A DeFi yield optimizer that promises algorithmically optimal yields

July 15th witnessed an important milestone for the cultivation ETH credit community worldwide. After months of hard work and increasing anticipation, the project is finally here launched its mainnet in the polygon network.

For those not in the know, ETHA Lend presents itself as a protocol-agnostic DeFi yield optimizer powered by the Polygon network. It is an ambitious project that aims to remove all barriers that limit DeFi’s accessibility and appeal to the broader crypto community.

The launch of mainnet was of course a crucial step in this direction and so far seems to have met the expectations of the community. At this point, our early assessments don’t differ much from the positive feedback from the community. Indeed, the mainnet launch seems to have brought just the right mix of features that you would expect from such a large and ambitious project.

Over the next few days, BeInCrypto will be diving deep into everything ETHA Lend has to offer. While we’re there we’ll also try to evaluate if it has the potential to justify the hype surrounding it. But before we get to the more complicated parts, let’s start this review series with a basic overview of the project and the surrounding ecosystem.

What is ETHALend?

To understand what ETHA Lend is, you must first understand the problems in DeFi that it is trying to solve.

As you know, DeFi’s growth over the past two years has been nothing short of spectacular. And much of the enthusiasm and growth that the DeFi space has seen can be attributed to the emergence of said practice yield farming.

A brief overview of yield farming

Basically, yield farming is a process by which you can generate profits from your cryptocurrency stash that would otherwise sit idle in an exchange or wallet. In yield farming As a liquidity provider, you deposit part of your cryptoO Holding in a liquidity pool.

The liquidity pool is basically a smart contract filled with cash. It is designed to use the cryptos deposited by investors like you generate profits.

For example, the smart contract can provide a loan to a borrower seeking funds in crypto at a mutually agreed interest rate. After final settlement with the borrower, the smart contract shares the profits from the transaction with liquidity providers like you.

These liquidity pools play a key role in the broader DeFi ecosystem. On most marketplaces, they are the go-to place for users to borrow, swap, and lend tokens. And this is exactly what makes yield farming an attractive choice for many crypto owners.

Note that this is a very rudimentary explanation of yield farming. If you think you could use more detail, BeInCrypto has an insightful yield farming explainer that covers just that.

The challenges

Despite all its potential, the overall user experience in the DeFi space today leaves a lot to be desired. For example, the concepts, as well as many of the strategies and practices associated with yield farming, are typically not inherently intuitive. And this, in turn, tends to confuse (or even discourage) new users.

Getting into the specifics, there are three basic issues that yield farmers – new and experienced alike – often face. These are – high transaction fees, lack of interoperability and limited risk tolerance with non-transparent market interest rates.

Forget the technical and financial challenges that arise from these factors. Most users find it difficult to even get a good understanding of the various projects and protocols that are available to them. They simply are unable to objectively evaluate different revenue opportunities to formulate an effective revenue optimization strategy. These are exactly the pain points that ETHA Lend wants to solve.

ETHA Lend: The solution

ETHA Lend is a protocol and chain independent yield optimizer powered by Polygon. It employs an intelligent algorithm that automatically assesses risk factors before assigning your assets to the best protocols available. It requires little input from the user when it comes to optimizing earning opportunities.

The core of the optimizer is the detection algorithm 700x faster than anything we’ve ever had in the past. This allows ETHA Lend to consider an asset’s past and present volatility along with other factors such as past returns – and all of these within fractions of a second. It then uses these analytics to automatically make an intelligent attribution of your assets.

And the best part is that the detection algorithm maintains this blitzkrieg speed regardless of the size of the offer, be it 1,000 USDC or 1,000,000 USDC.

Other advantages are:

  • The flexibility that comes from the interoperable protocol is another major advantage ETHA Lend enjoys over the competition. The platform can easily update its liquidity protocol to integrate and interact with new DeFi protocols. This, in turn, makes it easy to keep increasing yields.
  • ETHA Lend also brings a feature-rich non-custodial Atom wallet called the ETHA Smart Wallet. The wallet allows you to interact with a variety of DeFi protocols and manage your positions.
  • The ETHA Lend ecosystem also includes ETHA Vaults (eVaults) to give you greater control over your wealth. Among other things, the eVaults ensure that you can easily isolate your assets and protect them from high market volatility. At the same time, you can also deposit stable assets like USDT, USDC or DAI and get returns in volatile assets like BTC and ETHA or ETH and ETHA (ETHA is the native token on the platform). To encourage early adoption, ETHA Lend is offering cosmic rewards for early users who interact with the eVaults.
  • Unlike most of its competitors, ETHA Lend allows users to interact with its log without having to go through embargo periods. This ensures that your interests are deposited immediately, which is essentially a major improvement in how most people generate income from their DeFi investments.
  • ETHA Lend offers a feature-rich but (relatively) simple interface that helps mitigate the complex and sometimes intimidating quirks of DeFi.

Now that you have a basic understanding of ETHA Lend, we will cover all of these features and the mainnet launch in detail in the next few articles in this review series.

In the meantime, visit the ETHA Lend website and its white paper for a better look at the project.
