Cryptocurrency price today: Ethereum continues bull run, Bitcoin manages to scale above $23,000

Ethereum (ETC), the world’s second-highest-value cryptocurrency right after Bitcoin (BTC), continued its bull run as it stayed above $1,600 for the second straight day on Aug. 4. Bitcoin, on the other hand, managed to scale above $23,000, showing some signs of recovery from the recent tumble. Other popular altcoins, including the likes of Dogecoin (DOGE), Solana (SOL), and Ripple (XRP), saw smaller 24-hour gains across the board. Among the lesser-known altcoins, Optimism continued to be the day’s biggest gainer, posting a nearly 30 percent gain in value.

At the time of writing, the global crypto market cap was $1.08 trillion, according to CoinMarketCap data, for a 24-hour gain of 1.81 percent.

Bitcoin (BTC) price today

At the time of writing, BTC was priced at $23,069.96. Bitcoin posted a 24-hour gain of 0.93 percent, according to CoinMarketCap. According to Indian exchange WazirX, the BTC price stood at Rs 19.04 lakhs.

Ethereum (ETH) price today

With a 24-hour gain of 1.82 percent, ETH price was at $1,647.87. According to WazirX, Ethereum price in India was Rs 1.36 lakhs.

Dogecoin (DOGE) price today

DOGE posted a 24-hour gain of 0.89 percent, currently at $0.06692, according to CoinMarketCap data. According to WazirX, Dogecoin price in India was 5.64 rupees.

Litecoin (LTC) price today

Litecoin is up 2.24 percent over the past 24 hours. At the time of writing, the price was $58.82. The LTC price in India was Rs 4,900.

Ripple (XRP) price today

XRP price was at $0.3711, up 1.11 percent over the 24-hour period. According to WazirX, Ripple price was 31 rupees.

Solana (SOL) rate today

Solana price was at $39.33 for a 24-hour gain of 0.95 percent. According to WazirX, the SOL price in India was 3,271 rupees.

Edul Patel, the CEO and co-founder of Mudrex, told ABP Live, “Bitcoin has pushed its price back above $23,000 in the last 24 hours. If BTC manages to scale above $24,000 and trade there for a significant period, the bulls could gain further strength. The second largest cryptocurrency, Ethereum, was also trading above the $1,600 zone. But it seems that ETH has not gained enough power to continue the winning streak. So it is likely that ETH could trade sideways for the next few days.”

Sathvik Vishwanath, CEO and co-founder of Unocoin, commented on the crypto market scenario to ABP Live: “The crypto market remained stable throughout the day on Wednesday. However, the price surge has been seen in the tokens feeding decentralized exchanges and NFT-related tokens. Market depth on both sides remained low, reducing trading volumes on exchanges. How the market would move from now on depends on the buying or selling pressure that arises from now on. The resignation of MicroStrategy’s CEO and a large amount of Bitcoin entering the company’s hands has kept crypto traders cautious throughout the day.”
