treasuries.
The US Treasury (“T-Bill”) investment services on the public platform are provided by Jiko Securities, Inc. (“JSI”), a registered broker-dealer and member of FINRA & SIPC. See JSI’s FINRA BrokerCheck and Form CRS for more information. If you enable T-Bill investing on the Public Platform, you will open a separate brokerage account with JSI (the “Treasury Account”).
JSI uses funds from your Treasury Account to purchase T-Bills in increments of $100 “par value” (the value of the T-Bill at maturity). T-Bills are purchased at a discount to face value and the yield on the T-Bill represents the difference in price between ‘face value’ and ‘discount price’. The total funds in your Treasury account in excess of T-Bill purchases , remain as cash in your Treasury account. Treasury bills fluctuate in value and investors may get back more or less than their original investment if they are sold before maturity. T-bills are subject to price changes and availability – yield may change. Past performance is not indicative of future performance. Investing in T-Bills involves a variety of risks including credit risk, interest rate risk and liquidity risk. As a general rule, the price of a Treasury bond moves inversely with changes in interest rates. For more details, see Jiko’s US Treasury Bonds Risk Disclosure Statement.
