- Blockstream CEO Adam Back is betting one million satoshis (worth about $290) on Bitcoin, hitting a record high of over $100,000 ahead of its 2024 halving.
- Crypto analyst Ali Martinez believes Bitcoin’s current trajectory will be similar to the 2013-2017 cycle, potentially leading to significant profitability by 2024-2025.
Adam Back, the CEO of Blockstream and one of the early pioneers in the crypto space, has expressed strong optimism that Bitcoin will hit a record high of more than $100,000 before it is released Halving Event in 2024. He showed his confidence by agreeing to a significant $1 million bet on that prediction.

During a conversation on X on Aug. 7, Back engaged in a bet with a user named @Vikingobbitcoin, who preferred to remain anonymous. @Vikingobbitcoin argued that Bitcoin would not reach this milestone until 2025, which is contrary to Back’s belief that it would by March 31, 2024.
The proposed timeframe of the bet is roughly a month ahead of the halving, which is scheduled for April 26, 2024. Adam Back is confident that the price of Bitcoin is likely to hit a new all-time high before the official halving date. He expects the surge to happen before the halving itself.
In the past, bets predicting a significant price hike for Bitcoin have attracted significant amounts, such as Balaji Srinivasan’s $1 million 90-day bet in March. Adam Back has also shown a positive attitude towards Bitcoin, Indication in February that it could hit $10 million by the sixth halving in 2032.
This time, Back is risking his money to support his recent claim. However, the stake is one million satoshis, not US dollars, which is currently around US$290. Should Back’s prediction prove correct, the bet value would be over $1,000. A satoshi, also called a “sat” for brevity, represents the smallest divisible unit of bitcoin, with 100 million sats making up a single BTC.
Consequently, Back’s stakes are relatively modest considering his estimated net worth is somewhere between $50 million and $300 million. In response to Back’s first statement: Samson MowJan3’s CEO, and also a bitcoin enthusiast, agreed, anticipating that bitcoin will hit a new all-time high before the halving, not after.
I also think that the new ATH will happen before the halving, not after the halving.

Although the stakes are relatively low, it has drawn some sarcastic comments. Still, it shows an increasingly optimistic mood towards the Bitcoin price among market commentators and analysts ahead of next year’s upcoming halving.
Crypto analyst Ali Martinez identifies historical similarities with Bitcoin
in one tweetCrypto analyst Ali Martinez pointed out possible similarities between Bitcoin’s current price action and its historical pattern. By comparing its trajectory from the all-time high in November 2021 to the 2013-2017 cycle, data from Glassnode suggests the possibility of a repeat of this bullish cycle.
#Bitcoin price action could repeat itself! The $BTC price trajectory after the 2021 all-time high seems to reflect the 2013-2017 bullish cycle. pic.twitter.com/reCbCB8vCJ

If this forecast is correct, the price of Bitcoin could remain relatively stable from August to September, followed by slight gains. Accordingly Data from GlassnodeThere are indications of a possible rise in October 2023, which will keep the uptrend going throughout the month.
However, analysts expect a significant decline in the first week of November. Nevertheless, despite this short-term decline, they expect a positive outlook until the end of the year. These coming months are crucial for the development of Bitcoin.
If Bitcoin mirrors the historical pattern of the 2013-2017 cycle, it is on track to achieve significant profitability by 2024 and 2025. During this period, Bitcoin saw a remarkable surge of over 1600%. Given these observations, current trends could set the stage for another promising upswing in the coming years.

The ongoing accumulation points to Bitcoin’s upside potential
Additionally, Investors accumulate BTC, expressing their positive outlook for an impending price hike. Santiment, an on-chain analytics firm, is noting a change in behavior as BTC whales and significant holders trade BUSD and DAI for more Bitcoin. This shift represents a reversal from July, when large investors reduced holdings. The ongoing accumulation suggests that Bitcoin could potentially regain trading value above $30,000.
🐳 After a month of whales slightly reducing their #bitcoin pockets, we’ve seen some trade their #stablecoins for more $BTC. If this trend continues, we could see a quick recovery in prices to $30,000 and above. https://t.co/q60ITdmwti pic.twitter.com/2vMuQYXjgb
