Late danger! Moderator Alex Trebek lives on in a new clip from the Thanksgiving episode of the series, in which Trebek shares a Christmas message with viewers.
Danger! tweeted the video on the Thursday morning before the episode aired, writing, “Top of our list of things to be thankful for this year: Alex’s Thanksgiving message from tonight’s show.”
Trebek’s words seemed to recognize the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, which has led many in the United States to celebrate Thanksgiving remotely rather than gathering with family.
“Happy Thanksgiving, ladies and gentlemen. You know, despite what America and the rest of the world are going through, there are plenty of reasons to be grateful, ”said Trebek. “There are more and more people who reach out helpful hands to show kindness to their neighbors, and that’s a good thing. Keep the faith. We’ll get through all of this and be a better society as a result. “
Trebek died earlier this month after battling stage 4 pancreatic cancer for nearly two years. But even after he announced his diagnosis in March 2019, Trebek remained behind the danger! Podium until his death; his last danger! The episode originally aired on December 25th will now air on Friday, January 8th. In the weeks December 21-28, the show will honor Trebek by re-broadcasting 10 of his best episodes.
Danger! GOAT Ken Jennings is expected to be the first of several innkeepers starting Monday January 11th. Additional innkeepers will be announced in the coming weeks, and a permanent host will be announced at a later date.
