Challenge Cup: Coventry Blaze 2-5 Cardiff Devils

Cole Sanford’s two goals came within a minute

Cardiff Devils bounced back from their Elite League loss to the Nottingham Panthers by winning the Challenge Cup 5-2 at Coventry Blaze.

Stephen Dixon gave the Devils the lead before two rapid fire goals from Cole Sanford made it 3-0.

Thanks to Josh Waller, it was 4-0 at the end of the first period and Justin Crandall extended the Deils’ lead to five in the second period.

Ryan Penny and Janne Kivilahti withdrew the goals, but Devils took the points.

The Devils suffered their first home defeat of the season against the Panthers on Saturday.
