LUBBOCK, Texas— In the first round of qualifying at the ITF 15K Lubbock Pro Circuit, all three Razorbacks won their matches and advanced to the second round. Freshman Carolina Gomez-Alonso was automatically eligible for the peloton, while rookie Yuhan Liu, juniors Kelly Keller and Indianna Spink still need to win a match to qualify for the peloton.
Junior Indianna Spink opened her fall season with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Dylan Cline to move one step closer to the peloton. Kelly Keller followed with a 6-4, 6-2 win in straight sets over TCU’s Yu Chin Tsai, and freshman Yuhan Liu rounded out the Razorback wins with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Anastasiia Khrustaleva and Weatherford College away.
The tournament will continue tomorrow with the second qualifying round and the start of the main draw. Draws and results can be found on the tournament homepage.
