Multiple BT Sport payments in one bank account on Monday morning
Many fans reported at least five payments to their accounts – a whopping £125.
One of them, Ian Harvey from Telford, who pays for BT Sport’s monthly pass to watch Manchester City in the Premier League and Champions League, said: “I’ve set up my banking app to tell me whenever going out a payment and it’s I went insane this morning receiving five £25 payments.
“My bank said I needed to speak to BT Sport first but their messaging service was incredibly slow and when I tried to call I was put on hold for ages after a recorded message said BT is aware of ‘problems’ with accounts today.
“It’s upsetting as they haven’t said anything publicly to reassure people on social media or any other place I can see.”
Other fans have complained on social media.
Taking to Twitter, @Footyrecorder said: “@bt_uk They have charged my account multiple times for BT Sport. It looks like this is an issue others are having. It’s worrying, especially for those on a low budget, making a public statement to reassure customers?”
@bt_uk you have charged my account multiple times for BT Sport. It looks like this is an issue others are having. It’s unsettling, especially for those on a budget. Why haven’t you made a public statement to reassure customers?
