Wise is back with All Star Score

DUNDEE, NY — Zeb Wise returned from injury to win his first Tezos All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 in the Season Feature on Friday night at Outlaw Speedway.

Wise missed several races after suffering a concussion in an accident at Eldora Speedway, but was back in the #26 Rudeen Racing seat and on winning ways with an $8,000 triumph to secure the three-day win of the All Stars through New York to open.

It was Wise’s fifth All-Star triumph of his career.

Wise had to face off against National Sprint Car Hall of Famer and front row colleague Tim Shaffer in his winning pursuit, taking command from the former four-time All-Star Champion on lap 19.

The winning move, in which he even matched Shaffer at the end of the second turn before slamming down the backstretch, was the final act in a multi-round battle with the Aliquippa, Pennsylvania native that officially began as the frontrunners finished of the field reached.

Parker Price-Miller, passing Shaffer late on the 35-lap non-stop lap, was second, followed by Shaffer, “Sunshine” Tyler Courtney and Paulie Colagiovanni.

“I was heartbroken after the accident for many reasons, but mostly because I was forced to sit out a week and that was hard to take because our cars were really, really good,” said Wise. “It really makes my job easier when our cars are so good. It felt like we were able to get speed in places other people couldn’t. I was really patient with Tim [Shaffer]. He had a really good lead from the start and got ahead of me so I just waited for the lapped traffic to try anything.”
