Tre’Vius Hodges-Tomlinson hilariously jokes about the future of two sports after throwing the first pitch perfectly
Tre’Vius Hodges-Tomlinson was one of the best defenders in Horned Fogs history during his time there on the gridiron. On Thursday night, the talented corner kicker decided to show off his skills on the baseball diamond, throwing the first pitch for the Frisco Roughrider, the AA affiliate of the Texas Rangers. Not only that, after throwing first place, he took to Twitter to joke about his future as a two-sport star.

Hodges-Tomlinson was one of the best corners in all of college football and was selected as one of the best corners 2023 NFL draft.
He won the Jim Thorpe Prize passed to the nation’s top cover corner during the 2022 season. According to the PFF, Hodges-Tomlinson allowed a 38.9 passer rating in coverage that year, the lowest such mark among Big 12 defenders.
That year, he accumulated 50 tackles and three interceptions for the Horned Frogs while starting all 15 games. He was a crucial figure in their run to the national championship game. Hodges-Tomlinson was a three-time first-team All-Big-12 selection, earning the honor in 2020, 2021 and 2022. In the last three seasons, he has five interceptions and 31 pass breakups. The star defender only allowed a 28.3% completion rate in 2022 — making him the nation’s number one in that stat category.
Hodges-Tomlinson is expected to be a top pick in the 2023 NFL Draft
The 2023 NFL Draft will take place Thursday, April 27 through Saturday, April 29 in Kansas City, Missouri. The event takes place in the plaza just in front of Union Station.
Round 1 of the NFL Draft begins Thursday, April 27 at 8:00 p.m. ET. Rounds 2-3 begin Friday, April 28 at 7:00 p.m. ET and Rounds 4-7 begin at 12:00 p.m. ET Saturday, April 29. The draft will air all weekend on both ESPN and NFL Network.
To qualify for the NFL Draft, players must be at least three years from their senior year of high school while they have used up their college eligibility. Underclassmen can apply for league approval to qualify for the draft, as can players who graduated before using up all of their college eligibility. 100 underclassmen were admitted to last year’s draft. Of these 100 underclassmen, 73 received special authorization, while 27 of them were underclassmen who had completed their college degrees.
The 2023 NFL Scouting Combine will be held in Indianapolis from February 28th to March 6th.
