Gaming operator Top Sport has been fined €15,000 (£13,170/$13,308) by the Lithuanian Gaming Regulator for violating remote gaming regulations.
According to the regulator, a top sports player deposits €14,965 into his account with the operator using someone else’s payment card.
Lithuanian law states that licensed operators may only accept cashless deposits from the registered customer’s account and not from third parties.
As such, the authority said that Top Sport violated Article 205, Paragraph 1 of the Gambling Code of the Lithuanian Gambling Code, which refers to licensees being only allowed to accept deposits from a customer’s own payment account.
The agency noted that, as with all regulatory decisions, the judgment was not final and could be subject to an appeal.
The latest fine comes after Top Sport was fined €25,000 in February for emailing its customers with links to and details of its gambling services on August 31 last year. This included information about its mobile apps and website.
The authority said that informing customers about their offer was classified as a form of advertising, which is banned in Lithuania and that the operator therefore violated national law.
