We’re officially into the month of April, and that means the NFL Draft for the Tennessee Titans is right around the corner.
If you’re the kind of person who despises mock drafts, this is definitely not the month for you as this is the time of year when mock drafts flood social media timelines the most.
Everyone has their own opinion on what each team should be doing during draft weekend.
CBS Sports’ Kyle Stackpole recently took his own momentum throughout the first round of the upcoming tournament, letting the Titans head in a polarizing direction. Stackpole expects Kentucky quarterback Will Levis to end up dropping out of the top 10 and falling into the lap of the Titans at 11th overall.
Here’s what the CBS sports analyst had to say about his decision:
There were signs the Titans are interested in a QB. They’ve reportedly had private meetings with three of the top prospects and while head coach Mike Vrabel said he expects Ryan Tannehill to be the starter in 2023, he hasn’t committed to him. In this scenario, Will Levis can learn from behind Tannehill while Tennessee figures out what to do with 2022 third-round pick Malik Willis.
The good news from this scenario is that the Titans have theoretically gotten their future quarterback, so they can start developing him as such.
The bad news is that he’s arguably the riskiest quarterback of any top prospect at his position.
The biggest problem with the Kentucky quarterback is his overwhelming decision making and inconsistent mechanics that desperately need to be refined.
Levis is experienced and talented enough that he could probably start right away if he absolutely had to, but he would benefit a lot from having the opportunity to sit behind an established veteran for a season.
This would allow the talented signal-caller to create and work on his own game without the immediate pressure of having to upgrade an entire franchise as a newcomer.
Despite his obvious struggles at the moment, there’s plenty to do when a team has. You could even make a strong case that Levis has the best pure arm talent in the entire draft.

However, if he is ever to reach his full potential, Levis will need to break many bad habits that only hard coaching and constant repetition can fix.
Assuming the Titans end up keeping Ryan Tannehill for at least another year, going to a place like Tennessee would offer Levis that luxury, along with the time it takes to develop.
The Kentucky product is a true boom-or-bust prospect that either makes some front offices look smart because they’re betting on the upside or like idiots because they ignore all the obvious warning signs.
