In early December, the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) approved lacrosse as a sanctioned high school sport.
On Monday night, the Superior School Board voted on whether to add its own programs, and by a 6-1 vote, the measure passed.
The WIAA has designated the 2023-2024 school year as the inaugural season for Wisconsin prep lacrosse.
This is the first time a new sport has been introduced in the state for both girls and boys since football was sanctioned in 1982-1983.
