The Seattle Seahawks could wear throwback uniforms twice next season

Seattle Seahawks fans got great news in November when the team announced via its Twitter account that the throwback jerseys would return.

Seahawks President Chuck Arnold came to KJR Radio 93.3 FM Monday to talk about the club’s “State of the Union” and was promptly asked about the return of the iconic uniforms.

“Yes, it happens,” Arnold told Dave Mahler and Dick Fain. “We’re excited, I think we’re just as excited as the fans are for the setbacks. The game won’t be decided until the game schedule is released in early May, but we’ll get a chance.

“We’re not sure yet if it will be once or twice, but we’ll have a lot of fun with it when we launch it.”

Seattle wore the retro royal jersey and silver helmet and trousers from the franchise’s start in 1976 to 2001. Now that the NFL has officially scrapped the one-helmet rule, the look may return this season.
