Sports betting in Kentucky begins Thursday and is expected to bring millions to the bluegrass state

However, you cannot bet on amateur sports like high school football. Anyone over the age of 18 can place bets, unlike in Ohio and Indiana, where the legal age is 21. Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear expects sports betting to bring in $23 million in its first year.
