Welcome back to the soul of sport. In this episode of the series, ANDY HOOPER was at the King Power Stadium when Leicester City suffered relegation.
Dean Smith’s side did what they had to do on the day as goals from Harvey Barnes and Wout Faes gave them a 2-1 win over West Ham.
In the end, however, their result didn’t matter that day as Everton finished ahead of Leicester and survived the defeat by beating Bournemouth 1-0.

Optimism ran high among Leicester fans ahead of the crucial clash with West Ham on the final day of the league season. Leicester fans believed they were in for a terrific win and their hopes grew as they took a 1-0 lead. The fans at King Power Stadium began to believe as she created a hilarious atmosphere for Dean Smith’s side. There were jubilant scenes in the stands as Leicester took a two-goal lead, increasing their chances of survival enormously. It was a miserable day for expectant Leicester fans as their eight-year stint in the Premier League came to an end. Leicester fans created an excellent atmosphere ahead of the game – a game they needed to win and hoped Everton would drop points would. Fans young and old were hoping for the best — with this fan showing off a message text: “Don’t give up now.” The Foxes never gave up. “This Leicester fan will have seen many iconic moments and at home there was hope for another on Sunday. Leicester have struggled this season but showed a lot of struggle and determination but ultimately couldn’t avoid relegation.”
