Salford City 3-1 Morecambe – ` Sport

Defender Curtis Tilt scored for the second game in a row as Salford strengthened their chances of survival in League Two with a 3-1 win over Morecambe.

Tilt scored a header from substitute Luke Garbutt's corner in the 79th minute to secure the Ammies' first win in six games.

Karl Robinson's side remain 20th, but are now 11 points above the relegation places.

Morecambe had the chance to move level on points with seventh-placed AFC Wimbledon with victory at Moor Lane.

Instead, Connor McLennan and Callum Hendry gave Salford the lead with well-taken goals after 13 and 50 minutes respectively.

Scot McLennan scored his first league goal for the Ammies with a superb right-footed curling finish.

Striker Hendry then produced an excellent half-volley scissor kick that doubled the home team's lead.

Salford conceded a two-goal lead against Stockport four days earlier and had to settle for a point.

This time Theo Vassell's own goal in the 61st minute put the outcome in doubt until Tilt scored the decisive winner.
