Chiedozie Ogbene gave Rotherham a 2-0 lead after just 13 minutes

Promotion hope Rotherham’s stuttering form ended in a 2-1 win over Lincoln.

Two goals in three minutes of the first half turned the game in favor of leaders Millers, who secured a seven-point lead over third-placed MK Dons.

Rotherham ended a rare three-game run without a win but had to cling to death at the hands of the Imps.

Ben Wiles should have given the home side an early lead. The midfielder was alone at the back post of Mickel Miller’s cross but fired straight at Lincoln goalkeeper Jordan Wright.

But he made no mistake in the 11th minute after being picked by Ollie Rathbone and pushed his try off the post.

Wiles led another Millers attack in the 13th minute which Chiedozie Ogbene completed superbly into the same bottom corner to double the lead.

Lincoln improved in the second half and Tom Hopper should have halved the deficit but shot wide from close range.

Hopper took the next chance that came his way and swept home from a Cohen Bramall cross in the 81st minute to set up a nervous end for the home side.
