HAMPTON, Ga. — Qualifying for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series was canceled Friday afternoon due to inclement weather that affected Atlanta Motor Speedway.
The starting grid for Saturday’s Fr8 208 was determined by performance metrics.
Front Row Motorsports Ford driver and championship leader Zane Smith, the reigning series champion, was dealt from pole position at the 1.54 mile circuit. ThorSport Racing’s Ty Majeski will sit alongside Smith on the front row in another Ford.
Majeski’s team-mate Ben Rhodes and McAnally Hilgemann Racing driver Christian Eckes (Chevrolet) will start on row two. Niece Motorsports’ Carson Hocevar completed the top five in another Chevrolet. Corey Heim, Grant Enfinger, Matt Crafton, Chase Purdy and Matt DiBendetto will round out the top 10 on the grid for Saturday’s 135-lap event.
The Fr8 208, the third race of the Truck Series season, is scheduled to start at 2:00 p.m. ET on Saturday.
