NEWPORT, Ore — Oregon’s Pacific recreational halibut quota and season will be discussed at a public meeting Feb. 7 in Newport. The meeting will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. with in-person and virtual options.
ODFW hosts these annual meetings to review the International Pacific Halibut Commission’s annual meeting and resulting quotas for recreational Pacific halibut. Entrants are asked to provide details of the number and timing of “fixed” and “supplement” dates for the Central Oregon Coast Subarea spring all-deep halibut season. All other area and season dates were set last fall.
the Sports halibut website will be updated by February 3 with materials presented at the meeting and an online poll for those unable to attend the meeting.
The in-person meeting will be held in the conference room at ODFW Marine Resources Program, 2040 SE Marine Science Dr., Newport.
