THE ANGEL — The MPSF announced Tuesday that freshman Anna Pearson (Irvine, Calif./Orange Lutheran HS) has been named MPSF/S&R Sports Newcomer of the Week.
Pearson scored twice and had a team-best four exclusions in the Bruins’ 13-8 home win over the No. 4 Hawaii (April 2). Pearson scored her two goals on back-to-back possessions in the second quarter, with UCLA trailing 4-1 and sparking a 12-4 run to end the game. It was the Bruins’ first home game in 71 days (since January 20, 2023) and UCLA’s only game of the week.
This is Pearson’s second MPSF honor in his career.
