- Virtus GT Plus Sport presented as a concept
- The launch is expected to take place in the coming months
At its annual brand conference 2024, Volkswagen India introduced a number of new variants of the Taigun and Virtus range. One of them was the Virtus GT Plus Sport concept, the details of which we will consider in more detail in this article.
While Volkswagen has called the Virtus GT Plus Sport a concept, the car has been shown in its production form, suggesting its launch could come in the coming months. As for the car, it is similar to the GT Plus Sport version of its mid-size SUV, the Taigun.
Externally, the Volkswagen Virtus GT Plus Sport features darkened headlights, a Carbon Steel Gray roof, a red GT logo on the radiator grille, fenders and rear profile, dark chrome door handles and red brake calipers at the front. Certain elements such as the front grille, trapezoidal fenders, diffuser, ORVMs, window line, 16-inch wheels and spoiler are painted in glossy black.
The interior of this new variant of the Volkswagen Virtus range features black leatherette seats with gray stitching, a black headliner, gloss black dashboard decor, a sports steering wheel with gray stitching, red accents and GT insert, and aluminum pedals. The gloss black treatment was also carried over to the grab handles, roof lamp housing and sun visors.
Under the hood, the Virtus GT Plus Sport is powered by a 1.5-litre four-cylinder TSI turbo petrol engine producing 148bhp and 250Nm of torque. A seven-speed DSG unit takes over the transmission duties, while a six-speed manual transmission could also be involved.
