Fans, celebrities gather in Hollywood for a listening party to celebrate Shakira’s 1st album in 7 years – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports

HOLLYWOOD, FL. (WSVN) – It was a star-fest in South Florida as celebrities and fans alike gathered at Shakira's new album release party.

On Thursday evening, the red carpet was rolled out for the Colombian superstar, who is releasing his first album in seven years.

Supporters and fans gathered for a listening party at Hard Rock Live for her album “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” (“The Women Don't Cry Anymore”).

The album is very personal and vulnerable for the superstar following her divorce from Gerard Piqué.

Fans like influencer Lele Pons said she was excited about the new album.

“It’s definitely worth the wait because all the songs she’s going to release are crazy,” Pons said.

The former “Dancing with the Stars” contestant described what she expects from the new songs.

“She is someone who has been through a lot, comes back stronger, is a mother, takes care of her children and you can see that she is always there,” Pons said.

A lot of that feeling will be found on the album. In one song, Shakira sings with her two sons, who also play the piano.

On Thursday, friends and fans came to show their support.

One of them was the singer Emily Estefan and her partner Gemeny Hernandez.

“Shakira, what's the first word that comes to mind?” said 7News reporter Alex Miranda.

“Le lo lo lo lo,” Estefan said.

“Honestly, same thing! Until today,” said 7News reporter Alex Miranda.

“She’s always empowering women, empowering music, playing instruments and, you know, showcasing our culture,” Estefan said. “Right now she can do anything [expletove] She wants to, and it will all be incredible.”

Shakira also announced a collaboration with Cardi B in her new album, which seems to be a combination that many people didn't know they needed in their lives.

The album was released on Friday at midnight.

Shakira was also expected to walk the red carpet at some point during Thursday night's event.
