Fairborn will add a $3 million indoor multi-sport facility at the new high school.
The 11,000-square-foot site will be built between the home bleachers and fieldhouse, separate from the new high school, Fairborn Treasurer Kevin Philo said.
It was one of the projects cut earlier due to price increases for the new high school under construction on Commerce Center Boulevard, he added.
Plans for the facility resumed this week after a vote by the Fairborn School Board. It will be one of several projects funded by the 34-year bond issue that county voters approved this spring, officials said.

School district officials said the tax issue would raise about $24.6 million but would not increase taxes. Instead, the voter vote would allow collection to begin in 2027, after a current $2 million bond expires the year before, Philo said.
The cost of the new high school, previously estimated to cost $70 million, is now estimated at $82 million because of inflation, officials said.
According to the district, completion is scheduled for August 2024. But the new indoor training facility may not open until later this fall, Philo said.
