PALM BEACH GARDENS – As a successful multi-sport athlete, Sara Inman of Palm Beach Gardens knows a thing or two about winning.
The question might not have been whether Inman would win recognition for The Palm Beach Post’s Athlete of the Week – it was a question of what sport it would be.
“Sport is my life,” she summarized. “I’ve been doing this since I was little.”
The junior of the Gators plays an important role as a leader and goalscorer for both the volleyball team and the football team. And while she prefers indoor fall sports, it was ultimately football that voters recognized her for.
“I actually played soccer when I was little, so I’ve played my whole life,” Inman said. “So it’s special that I won this award for football.”
After leading the Gators by 11 goals this year, the impact Inman has had on the football program this year was felt by all.
“Sara is the athlete that every coach wants on their team,” said Gardens head coach Abigail Carr. “She is a natural leader, personable, responsible and fun. “She has the ability to motivate everyone around her and make them laugh at the same time.”

The fun-loving Gardens leader has her eye on a possible college career in sports, but her academics also remain important to Inman, who is pursuing a medical career – something that runs in the family.
In Inman’s case, she wants to combine two of her passions.
“Both my parents are in the medical field, so I’ve been involved with it my whole life,” Inman said. “I’ve been in sports for so long that I want to go into sports medicine.”
When it comes to a dream school, Inman was quick to respond.
“My dream school is definitely the University of Florida,” she said.
Once a Gator, always a Gator, as the Florida fan proverb goes. If everything works out for Inman, maybe in the truest sense of the word.
