Rotheram survives a hefty penalty as Middlesbrough's Sam Greenwood has his shirt taken off by Peter Kioso

Marcus Forss saved Middlesbrough a point with a late goal against bottom-placed Rotherham United at the Riverside Stadium.

The Finland international ended the game after a fine backheel strike from Morgan Rogers as lackluster Boro struggled ahead of the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg at Chelsea on Tuesday.

Michael Carrick's side suffered an injury downturn in this game, with Isaiah Jones apparently forced off with a hamstring injury.

Cafu's counter-attacking goal appeared to have ended Rotherham's terrible away winless run – dating back to November 2022 – but Forss ensured they have now equaled an unwanted club record of 27 winless away games.
