- Manchester United will be listening to offers for up to 13 players this summer
- Jadon Sancho, Harry Maguire and Fred are among the stars who could leave
- Dean Henderson, Fred and Donny van de Beek could also leave Old Trafford
Manchester United will be listening to offers for up to 13 players this summer in hopes of raising up to £100m in signings.
mail port can reveal what United will ask the likes of Jadon Sancho, Harry Maguire and Anthony Martial to give manager Erik ten Hag more buying power in the transfer market.
Ten Hag’s budget has been slashed to around £120million due to Financial Fair Play restrictions as he wants to sign a midfielder, a striker and a goalkeeper.
It’s one of the reasons why United are refusing to give in to Chelsea’s £65m demand for Mason Mount in a bid to save as much money as possible for his other goals.
The search for a striker has been complicated by the ratings of Tottenham’s Harry Kane, Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund. United have also held talks with Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana, the cost of which would be estimated at around £40million.
Manchester United will listen to offers for up to 13 players to raise funds. Jadon Sancho is one of those names, with United ready to accept around £45million for him. The much-maligned Harry Maguire is likely to leave if a £40m offer came in
The club are hoping to raise at least £50m and possibly as much as £100m for a reinvestment by selling part of the current squad, although football industry sources have dismissed any suggestion of a fire sale and it is understood there is no prospect of all 13 players are going of the available United players.
In the case of Sancho, Martial, Maguire and Scott McTominay none of them will be forced out of Old Trafford and United are happy to let them stay and fight for their places. Should one of the four players drop out, there will be a gap in the squad that needs to be filled before the new season begins.
United would listen to offers in the region of £45m for Sancho, who has struggled to make the impact he expected since joining from Borussia Dortmund for £73m two years ago.
Maguire cost Leicester £80m in 2019 but is allowed to leave if £40m offer arrives.
Although the United captain only made eight Premier League appearances last season after slipping down the center-back pecking order under Ten Hag, he remains a regular in England.
Martial is entering the final year of his contract and United want around £25m for the unpredictable Frenchman.
Scott McTominay is huge at United but could leave for a £40million transfer fee. Anthoyn Martial is entering the final year of his contract and United want around £25m. Dean Henderson could join Nottingham Forest permanently after his loan last season £20m for midfielder FredUnited also want the same amount for Dutch star Donny van de Beek
Martial initially thrived under Ten Hag after being loaned to Sevilla but a series of injuries limited his availability last season.
McTominay is particularly valued at United having progressed through the youth system, but his options were limited by the arrivals of Casemiro and Christian Eriksen last summer and the club would be sympathetic if he wanted a fresh start.
The Scotland midfielder was a target for Newcastle in January and United would ask around £40m to sell him.
Goalkeeper Dean Henderson is also among the players United would sell at the right price.
Henderson is in line for a permanent move to Nottingham Forest worth £15million plus surcharges if David de Gea signs a new deal, but De Gea’s future is more uncertain than ever with just days until his current deal an end.
Despite his contract expiring next week, David de Gea is yet to sign a new deal with United. Promising winger Anthony Elanga – worth £20million – is another player who could potentially leave the club
Henderson would be an option to replace him but United are keen to sign a new goalkeeper and Onana is highly regarded by Ten Hag having played for the Dutchman at Ajax.
The remaining eight players are up for sale, with United actively scouting new clubs for them, although some could end up on loan or even go on a free transfer.
A £20million price tag is understood to have been handed down to midfielders Fred and Donny van de Beek, as well as Sweden striker Anthony Elanga. Fred is the subject of Fulham’s interest, while a number of German clubs are eyeing Elanga.
Defenders Alex Telles and Eric Bailly, both on loan last season, can opt for £10m and £2m respectively, while Brandon Williams is valued at around £5m.
Tunisian midfielder Hannibal Mejbri would cost £13m and United have already agreed to sell Zidane Iqbal to Utrecht for £850,000 plus significant surcharges.
