Grimsby Town 1-1 Walsall – ` Sport

Grimsby extended their unbeaten run in the Second Division to five games with a 1–1 draw with Walsall at Blundell Park.

Bryn Morris opened the scoring with a curler within 20 minutes before Donervon Daniels equalized in the restart for Walsall.

The home side started strong and got close early as George Lloyd and Niall Maher aimed from the same corner before Conor Wilkinson scrambled his shot at the other end after the Walsall striker was put up by Jacob Maddox.

Morris gave Grimsby the lead after 18 minutes when he sent a curl into the far post from a set piece, while John McAtee also targeted a free-kick before the blocked break.

Walsall equalized within five minutes of the restart when Daniels reacted quickest from a corner to hammer into the roof of the net.

Grimsby striker McAtee rolled over with a volley and headed in before Walsall captain Daniels hit the sidenet, but in the end both teams had to settle for part of the points, keeping them in midfield.
