Glenn Irwin leads Tommy Bridewell in one of their gigantic racing duels during the 2023 BSB season
Glenn Irwin will ride for the PBM Ducati team in the 2024 British Superbike series and the North West 200.
Irwin was edged out by championship winner Tommy Bridewell by just half a point in last year's series.
The pair both rode for the PBM Ducati team in the 2023 season, but Bridewell has since moved to Honda Racing.
The 33-year-old Irwin, who won ten races in the BSB series last year and secured eight more podiums, will be the sole rider for the Ducati team in 2024.
The Carrickfergus rider will also take part in the North West 200 in May as he aims to become the most successful Superbike rider in international road racing history.
Irwin has won eight consecutive Superbike races at the event, one place behind the record of nine held jointly by the late Joey Dunlop and Michael Rutter.
The number of Superbike races at the meeting has been increased from two to three for this year, with the first taking place on Thursday 9th May and the remainder on Saturday 11th May.
Irwin was named Irish Motorcyclist of the Year for the second year in a row in January in recognition of his achievements in 2023.

“No room for complacency”
For the coming season, the Northern Irishman will once again have a Ducati V4R at his disposal to secure his first BSB title success, after finishing second in each of the last two years.
The PBM team is now led by Jordan and Frank Bird following the untimely death of their father, former team boss Paul Bird, last year.
The Cumbria-based team has won a record nine British Superbike titles.
“It might sound like a cliché, but there was never really anywhere else I wanted to be. Despite interest from elsewhere, when there was some uncertainty, my heart and attention was always with PBM,” Irwin said.
“Going back to last year, we had a fantastic season together and after four years apart we got back together and I think I grew up and matured during that time.”
“The team went through a lot last year but it was also a fantastic year and the championship was one of the most exciting in history and I am extremely grateful to have been a part of it.”
“It didn’t work out in my favor per se, but that doesn’t take away from the sweetness because we had great success.”
“I believe and expect that I will fight for the championship from the start, but we also have to understand and adapt to some changes.”
“It’s certainly not just about rolling the dice like we did last year, we still have a lot of work to do and I think it’s important that we don’t get complacent.”
“We’re doing our job and then I think we’ll definitely have a lot more race wins and successes ahead of us.”
