Friends, family sport their best superhero, chiefs dress up to commemorate Tony DiGennaro

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – Friends and family celebrated the life of Tony DiGennaro Jr., a recently deceased student at Jardine Middle School, with services Thursday.

Friends and family of Vincent “Tony” DiGennaro Jr., dressed in their best superhero and Kansas City Chiefs attire to commemorate him, at a life ministry celebration Thursday morning, June 2, at the Fellowship Bible Church, 6800 SW 10th St.

In a letter to families, Topeka Public Schools told USD501 that the DiGennaro family continues to express their gratitude for all of the community’s support as they say an unexpected goodbye to their only son.

Tony died unexpectedly in May after taking new medication, falling asleep and then not waking up.

TPS said the Peaceful Rest Funeral Chapel can be contacted at 785-234-1707 for those wishing to offer support to the family.
