Prof. Christopher Imumolen, an academy, has appealed to well-meaning Nigerians to help youth achieve their dreams in the field of sport.
In a statement provided to The PUNCH, the scholar said the scholar gave this advice at a sporting event held at the Baptist Academy in Obanikoro, adding that it was done in conjunction with the Nigerian-American Football Association, the Lagos State Department of Education and Lagos State Sport Commission happened.
He also offered an N276m scholarship to 138 secondary school students who came out on top in the Nigeria Secondary School Flag Off for Football League.
Accord Party presidential candidate Imumolen said he believes the young generation should be supported and said it would help them achieve their vision and passion, particularly in the field of sport.
He said: “This tournament is not the first. We’ve been doing this for fifteen years without making any noise and we only involve the media.
“Apparently the kind of leader we need in Nigeria is the one who can help especially the young people who are the future.
Director, School Sports, Lagos State Sports Commission, Dr. Oluyomi Oluwasanmi, represented by Lagos State Sports Commission Vice-Chairman Mr. Sola Aiyepekun, advised other well-meaning Nigerians to emulate Imumolen and influence children who would be tomorrow’s leaders.
