TULARE, Calif. – Front row starter Justyn Cox put in a nearly flawless performance to pocket $18,383.00 for victory on the final night of the Dennis Roth Classic with the NARC 410 Sprint Series.
Cox drives Bates-Hamilton Racing/Benefit RFP/Lippert Construction #42X Kistler/Maxim and leads wire to wire in NAPA Auto Parts’ 30-lap feature at Thunderbowl Raceway to claim his first series win of his career.

Cox took command of the race from the initial green flag, which waved high on the cushion just inches from the wall. At the eighth circuit he was faced with his first dose of lapping traffic, something he had to deal with throughout the headliner. However, he managed to stay calm, cool and collected as he zigzagged through slower cars while slamming into the outer wall while letting it all hang out. There were four stoppages in total, but Cox mastered all restarts to hold off his competition.
Corey Day, who ran for car owner Jason Meyers and won the Meyers Constructors/Four C’s Construction/Autry Plumbing No. 14 Kistler/KPC has piloted and challenged Cox several times but failed to win. Day had two opportunities with just five laps left to pass Cox, but Cox answered the call.
“I’m in disbelief!” said the very excited and emotional winner. “I forgot to believe in myself last year and I can’t believe I’m up here! I’ve worked my whole life to make something cool and we made it tonight. Winning at Tulare is amazing and anyone who knows me knows this track scares me, so it’s just amazing.”
Day finished in a respectable second place and took home $9,000 for his efforts. He was chased to the checkered by tenth starter Justin Sander, who was driving for Demo Mittry in his Farmer’s Brewing/North County Plastering/MittryConstruction.com No. 2X Speedway/Maxim. The remainder of the top five consisted of Works Limited No. 57W Speedway/EMI by Shane Golobic and Chase Johnson in the Toyota by Marin, Walnut Creek and Sunnyvale/Price Family Dealerships No. 24 Kistler/Maxim.
