March 30, opening day of the Major League Baseball season. Both our Chicago White Sox and our Chicago Cubs were in action. But if I look at the Daily Southtown comic page, the Fred Basset flick shows Fred and his canine friends cheering on the neighborhood boys for their first game of the season, not at baseball but at football. Didn’t Fred Basset cartoonist Alex Graham know baseball opened today?

I’ve read the story that an alliance between Trump and DeSantis is unlikely. Therefore, we should suspect all politicians. I believe they both have similar strong but different ways of doing this. It seems that their individual personal egos/goals divide them and face what they are trying to convince voters to do. A Trump/DeSantis ticket would mean our country’s growth, respect and prosperity for at least 12 years under strong, conservative Republican leadership.

Only under the Democratic Party will the innocent be punished and the guilty go unpunished. How about Hillary Clinton and the others, Biden’s son and all that? You should be prosecuted, Al Sharpton and all of you.

To the two Dans, you’re absolutely right, let’s throw in the towel and turn schools into armed fortresses. Forget guns, let’s arm everyone, even the first years. We can’t even think of doing anything about guns. Yes, mental health is part of the problem, but not all shooters would necessarily be classified as having a mental disorder. What about neo-Nazis, anti-Semites and racists? There are solutions out there if we are willing to try them.

I just want to put that question to the Republicans in Congress. What if your child was shot? Would you still take the position that there is nothing you can do to change gun laws? And how many millions are Republicans getting from the National Rifle Association? The NRA tells everyone the government will take away your guns, how ridiculous can that be? Anyone who supports any kind of gun control remembers Republicans sitting on their hands and shutting their mouths.
