Charlie Davies is excited to be a voice on the CBS Sports Golazo Network

BOSTON — Former New England Revolution star Charlie Davies loves to chat about football. He will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.

In addition to his color duties on Revolution radio shows, Davies is now part of the crew of CBS Sports’ Golazo Network, a free 24/7 digital soccer network that officially launched Tuesday morning. It will offer football fans unparalleled coverage of football from around the world, highlighted by morning and afternoon live shows throughout the week and exclusive matches.

Davies will now spend his mornings on the network’s flagship show Morning Footy, chatting to Susannah Collins, Nico Cantor, Alexis Guerreros and Jenny Chiu about the game he loves from 7am to 9am

This makes for a very busy schedule for Davies, but it doesn’t bother him at all.

“This is the first of its kind; we’re making history here,” Davies told WBZ-TV’s Dan Roche shortly after Morning Footy on Tuesday. “To be a part of that – today I was able to sit back and think and it’s just amazing. I was a little kid who was born in Lawrence, grew up in Manchester, New Hampshire and traveled the world playing this sport that I idolized and adored And here I am now trying to do the same for all the little kids who are in mine shoes.

“Anyone who wants to know what’s happening in the world of football has it here 24/7,” said Davies. “What I’m really excited about is breaking down the women’s side of the game because I’ve never done it before. As an expert you always want to grow and that excites me.”

Golazo Network will feature action from every corner of the field, from the Champions League to the MLS to the Mexican League. The network will also provide exclusive coverage of the UEFA Champions League, including a dozen matches over the next two weeks.

All the fun starts each morning with Davies and his infectious passion for football on Morning Footy.

“Similar to a sports center you can sit down and watch all the highlights from the different leagues,” said Davies. “It’s a lot of fun and it’s a real morning show centered around the world of football.

“When you love something and it’s in your veins, it doesn’t feel like work,” he added. “I feel like I’m in it all the time and you’re falling in love with the sport again – in a good way. There are a lot of game tapes that I look at. I love to break down games and analyze why teams are winning and why they are losing. It is exciting and great work.”

The Golazo Network can be found on all CBS and Paramount+ products, including Paramount+, Pluto TV and the CBS Sports app. It can also be streamed online here.
