Brock University has once again placed in the top 100 universities in the world for its sports management and kinesiology programs.
In the recently released QS University World Rankings on sports-related topics, Brock was ranked in the top 100 in the world and in the top 9 in Canada.
Brock was ranked alongside Queen’s University and ahead of the University of Waterloo, Université Laval and Université de Montréal.
“Brock has long been a leader in the field of exercise science, so it’s very gratifying to see that reflected in these global rankings,” said Peter Tiidus, Dean of the School of Applied Health Sciences. “Our outstanding faculty conducts world-leading research and has a deep commitment to innovative, experiential learning and applied education. They deserve full credit for the continued high ranking of these programs.”
The QS University World Rankings compare up to 550 institutions around the world in each category and rank them based on factors such as academic reputation, employer reputation, and research citations per article.
“These are fantastic results that give Brock the spotlight it deserves on the international stage,” said Lynn Wells, Interim President and Vice Chancellor. “Congratulations to the faculty, staff and students who have worked so hard to make Brock the sports science frontrunner he is today.”
Students are encouraged to participate in this year’s Maclean’s magazine poll, which collects opinions and insights about their institution for the publication’s annual edition of the University Rankings.
Brock was ranked first nationally for his mental health support by Maclean’s four years running, and last year ranked first in Ontario and third in the country for student satisfaction.
Earlier this year, Brock earned high marks in a national research funding report, ranking first out of 21 universities in its category for corporate research revenue growth.
