Brighton: ‘Solly March could soar to the highest heights’

Albion Roar podcast’s Ady Packham says Solly March “can reach the highest heights” despite the Brighton midfielder not yet being included in Gareth Southgate’s England squad.

The 28-year-old has scored seven Premier League goals for the Seagulls this season, scoring in Wednesday’s 1-0 win over Crystal Palace.

“He’s a Sussex born and raised player like Lewis Dunk and he’s ignored by the England manager as well,” Packham said on the Football Daily podcast

“Hopefully Solly could force his way into that squad because what he’s doing now – and what De Zerbi did to him – we’re seeing a different player. He always had the potential and the flashes. There were times in the championship where he was completely unplayable.

“Solly, now with the confidence the manager has given him, he’s adding new elements to his game and it’s so exciting to see him making progress. He’s young, he’s only 28. He’s a player, who could go to the highest heights.

“Solly was always available in every position to move the ball forward and create chances. It’s great to see the player we always thought he could actually be becoming the player he is now is.”
