Barnet 1-4 Oldham Athletic – ` Sport

Barnet missed the chance to reduce their lead at the top of the National League as they were soundly beaten at home to Oldham.

A win at the Hive would have seen the hosts move within five points of leaders Chesterfield, but they fell behind after 26 minutes when goalkeeper Laurie Walker brought down Mike Fondop and conceded a penalty which James Norwood converted.

Walker was initially shown a red card before the referee overturned the decision and handed out a yellow card.

Barnet appeared to have taken advantage of the reprieve when Harry Pritchard equalized from the penalty spot ten minutes into the second half.

But from then on the visitors took control and Fondop restored the lead before Norwood scored his second from 12 yards.

Hallam Hope scored in the 90th minute to secure a second win in a row and move Oldham to within two points of the play-off places, while Barnet suffered a third defeat in a row.
