Sadio Mane has scored nine goals in 10 games against Aston Villa

Douglas Luiz struck from close range and put Villa ahead after Reds keeper Alisson spilled his header.

Joel Matip equalized in the sixth minute after Virgil van Dijk’s shot was saved by Emiliano Martinez.

Sadio Mane headed in the winner from a Luis Diaz cross to put Liverpool level on points with Manchester City, who remain top on goal difference.

City play twice – at Wolves on Wednesday and West Ham on Sunday – ahead of Liverpool’s next league game.
