Marie Donoghue, vice president of global sports video at Amazon Prime Video, is leaving the company.

Donoghue informed her employees on Thursday with a farewell email. Prime Video just completed its second season as the home of the NFL package “Thursday Night Football.”

Donoghue reported to Jay Marine, who heads the company's athletic department. Amazon confirmed Donoghue's exit to the media but made no further comment.

Donoghue joined Amazon in 2018 as VP of Global Sports Video for Prime Video, leading the tech company's push into live coverage. In 2022, Prime Video launched an exclusive 11-year deal for Thursday Night Football, which has proven to be a strong addition to the offering. With viewers more accustomed to only watching games via streaming this year, viewership increased by 24% compared to last year.

In addition to the NFL, Prime Video also streams Major League Baseball, the WNBA and other sports in various global markets. Growth in sports helped Amazon advertising revenue rise 26% year-over-year to $12.06 billion in the third quarter. Amazon also acquired a stake in the YES Network, the regional sports network controlled by the New York Yankees.

Before joining Amazon, Donoghue worked for ESPN for 19 years, serving in a variety of business affairs and content roles.
