Tether's decision to mint an unprecedented amount of USDT in a short period of time has sparked intense speculation about its potential impact on Bitcoin price.
Experts are watching this development closely. In fact, historical patterns suggest a strong correlation between Tether’s minting actions and notable Bitcoin price increases.
Tether Mints 2 Billion USDT: Possible Bitcoin Price Reaction
Tether has minted an incredible 2 billion USDT in just 10 days. This development follows the recent minting of 1 billion USDT. Therefore, this represents a significant increase in the issuance of this well-known stablecoin.
Historically, such significant Tether (USDT) minting events have been highly correlated with notable Bitcoin price increases. This raises the crucial question of whether the price of Bitcoin will experience significant fluctuations in the coming days.

According to renowned crypto analyst Tone Vays, Bitcoin’s current consolidation phase suggests underlying momentum. Vays noted that the weekly chart for BTC shows the formation of an ascending triangle. In fact, this technical pattern is often preceded by a significant upward movement in price.
He predicted a “tremendous surge” in Bitcoin’s value, potentially reaching a high of $48,628. Nevertheless, Vays also warns of a later decline. Especially in the wake of possible news from the SEC regarding a spot Bitcoin ETF (Exchange Traded Fund).
“Bitcoin is forming an ascending triangle. This leads to a huge increase to $48,628 next week. And if the SEC news sees a big bounce next week, I expect a big pullback right after that,” Vays reiterated.

Similarly, Ali Martinez, another prominent figure in the crypto market, has identified a key pattern that has been driving Bitcoin’s price action since September 2023. Martinez pointed to an ascending parallel channel, a technical formation that suggests a possible rise in Bitcoin price towards $48,000.
However, this price increase is not likely to come without challenges. Martinez predicted a possible rejection at this peak, leading to a decline towards $34,000 before a rebound to an even higher target of $57,000.
Tether minting such a large volume of USDT could potentially trigger a significant increase in the price of Bitcoin, consistent with the technical patterns outlined by Vays and Martinez. However, this optimism is tempered by the possibility of volatility with potential setbacks that could test investor resilience and the market's overall stability.
