A collaborative approach to athlete development The Sport Psych Show x Dr. Duncan Simpson

Physical fitness is essential for every athlete. Technical training provides a framework for players of all ages to understand and retain the basic mechanics of a sport. for dr Duncan Simpson, Head of Mental Skills at IMG Academy, begins and ends the training with strengthening the mind.

In an interview on the Sport Psych show, Dr. Simpson with presenter and sports psychiatrist Dan Abrahams on the methods that go into the training of young athletes. “It’s a process of long-term conditioning and learning in terms of mental play,” explains Duncan, “It’s not about a one-off presentation. We’re talking about conditioning the athlete over a long period of time.”
