The Lexus ES is an automotive legend for its smooth driving experience. No other car wraps the driver so thoroughly for less than $45,000. But that doesn’t mean it can’t be a little more sporty. So for 2023 Lexus has introduced two packages for its most relaxed sedan, bearing the F-Sport name that Lexus attaches to its high-performance products.
The F Sport Design Pack brings the sporty look with a more aggressive front bumper and grille surround, rear spoiler and exclusive 19-inch alloy wheels. It also adds the intuitive parking assist, which doesn’t improve the car’s appearance but is nice to have.
The F-Sport Handling Package brings the sporty driving feel, which adds an adaptive F-Sport suspension with a Sport+ mode and a custom Custom Drive mode, as well as a heated sports steering wheel, aluminum interior trim, aluminum pedals and a black headliner.
Other changes for 2023 include a new higher-resolution touchscreen and voice controls (say “Hey, Lexus” to activate them). The screen is 8 inches, with a 12.3-inch option available. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are now standard, and a new wireless device charging pad is optional.
A new interior finish, Ash Bamboo, joins the options list.
Price changes are remarkably small given all the improvements — less than $400 on each trim level. As before, the Lexus ES is available in a wide range of trims, with a choice of front- or all-wheel drive and 4-cylinder, V6 or hybrid powertrains.
