Posted at 10:33 am – Corn corn is down 3/4 cents and corn soybeans are up 8 1/2 cents. May KC wheat is up 12 1/2 cents and May Minneapolis wheat is up 15 cents. Crude oil in April is up $1.42 and Dow Jones futures are up 180 points. The US Dollar Index is down 0.11 and Gold is down $27.20 in April. KC and Minneapolis wheat are flying higher along with soybeans and bean oil while corn and soybean meal are only slightly down. There is little new to report at the start of the week.

Posted at 8:37 am – Corn Maize is flat and Corn Soybeans are down 2 cents. May KC wheat is up 4 3/4 cents and May Minneapolis wheat is up 7 cents. Crude oil in April is up $1.08 and Dow Jones futures are up 300 points. The US Dollar Index is down 0.19 and Gold is down $33.30 in April. In quiet trading at the start of the new week, only the wheat is firmer at the start. There is little news to get the markets starting the week ahead of Friday’s USDA report. The USDA announced another new corn sale, this time to undisclosed destinations — a sale of 112,800 mt (4.4 mb) for 2022-23.

Posted on Sunday March 26 at 7:03pm CDT– Crop prices are mixed after Sunday night’s open. Corn is down 1 cent and May soybeans are up 1 1/4 cents. The seven-day forecast calls for moderate rainfall in the central and east Midwest this week and only small amounts in the western plains. The Northern Plains remain on the cold side this week with limited chances of snowmelt. May KC wheat is down 2 1/4 cents and May Minneapolis wheat is down 1 3/4 cents. Severe storms continue to sweep through the Deep South after tornadoes killed at least 25 people in Mississippi over the weekend. May crude is up $0.33 and Dow Jones futures are up 160 points. The US Dollar Index is down 0.09 and Gold is down $5.80 in April. Traders will continue to be on the lookout for news from the banking sector this week.

Posted 11:42 — Live cattle in June are up $1.78 to $158.375, feed cattle in May are up $3.60 to $201.15, lean hogs in June are up $2.73 to 94, Up $15, Corn is up 4 cents a bushel and May Soybean Meal is down $1.00. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 234.07 points. The cattle market is trading higher as traders aggressively dived into all three cattle markets on Monday morning. The corn complex is also trading higher, but that’s not impacting momentum in the livestock sector at the moment.

Posted at 8:35 am – Live cattle in June are up $0.55 to $157.15, feed cattle in May are up $1.25 to $198.8, lean hogs in June are up $0.33 up to $91.75, corn is down 3 cents a bushel and May soybean meal is down $1.90. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 251.49 points. The cattle market has got off to a strong start as all three markets are trading higher. It will be interesting to see how the livestock bought through the bar cattle market last week are included in the morning report.
